Gap year is popular among youth in western countries. A gap year is the time out to travel between life stages. It refers to a period of time (normally a year) in which people disengage from school or work and pack up to go travel or participate in public service activities. In recent years, gap year culture has been gradually introduced to China and is sought after by the young generation.

The "harshest employment season" still exists, when peers are still busy looking for work, rushing abroad, or feeling pressure from all sides after graduation, there is a group of people who lay down their burdens and take a "gap year".
