Tianjin Ronggang and Shanghai Sharks secured another two playoffs berths after beating their opponents respectively in Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league on Wednesday.

Thanks to foreign trio's combined 75 points, Tianjin Ronggang upset Fujian SBS 110-103, advancing into playoffs for the first time in franchise history.

Shelden Williams contributed game-high 34 points and 19 boards. Sebastian Telfair added 27 points and dished out 10 assists.

The "Abbas Rule", meaning that the team who recruits Zaid Abbas is set to advance into playoffs, proved again this time. During last four seasons, Shanghai, Beijing, Fujian and Shandong have "benefitted" from this rule. Abbas finished with 14 points and 12 rebounds in Wednesday's match.

Shanghai Sharks beat Zhejiang Chouzhou 111-103. Quincy Douby scored 34 points. Darnell Jackson and Liu Wei helped with 29 and 21 respectively.

Both teams tied at 91 with 4:13 to play. Liu Wei led the hosts for a 6-0 run to build a 107-99 lead, forcing the opponents into fouls, which proved ineffective at last.

Up to now, seven playoffs teams have been set: Guangdong, Xinjiang, Dongguan, Beijing, Guangsha, Tianjin and Shanghai.

The last ticket is to be decided between Liaoning Hengye and Shandong Gold with two games to play. Now Liaoning has one-game advantage in hand.

Defending champions Guangdong Hongyuan won their 14th straight game with a 104-95 home victory over Zhejiang Guangsha 104-95. Joshua Powell had 23 points and 10 rebounds. Zhu Fangyu and Yi Jianlian added 22 and 17 respectively.

In other matches, Sichuan Jinqiang sank Beijing Ducks 117-102, Dongguan Marco Polo gave Bayi Fubang their 12th straight skid with 104-99, Liaoning Hengye beat Qingdao Doublestars 121-110, Shanxi Fenjiu crushed over Jilin Northeast Tigers 124-102, Jiangsu Dragons upset Foshan Long Lions 116-108, and Shandong Gold got past Xinjiang Guanghui 103-93.
