BERLIN, Dec. 5 (Xinhua) -- Bayern Munich will miss their regular starting winger Arjen Robben for six weeks due to knee injury, said the Bundesliga club on Thursday.
It means the Dutch star will not be able to play Tuesday's Champions League tie at home hosting Manchester City, as well as the Club World Cup in Morocco, slated on December 11-21.
He will also miss all league matches before the winter break, starting on December 22.
Robben suffered the injury in Bayern's 2-0 German Cup third round win at Augsburg on Wednesday as he was stretchered off on 16 minutes after colliding with the rivals' goalkeeper Marwin Hitz.
"Ajren Robben has a deep cut, down to the knee joint," said Bayern team doctor Hans-Wilhelm Mueller-Wohlfahrt.
"Of course, I am very disappointed," said the 29-year-old Robben. "I was in good form and I was really looking forward to every game with the team."
