World No.1 female tennis player Serena Williams breezed into the second round of the China Open by beating Elena Vesnina 6-4, 6-2 at Beijing's National Tennis Centre Sunday.
Williams, a former China Open champion, was barely troubled by her Russian opponent Elena Vesnina, needing only one hour and 25 minutes to wrap up the opening round win.
