Hanoi Vertical Run 2013 to kick off at Vietnamese capital's highest tower

The stair climbing race, Hanoi Vertical Run 2013, will kick off at the Vietnamese capital city' s highest tower Landmark 72 on Sunday, attracting over 200 amateur and elite athletes, announced organizers Friday.

Competitors will have to ascend 1,914 steps leading to the top of the 72-storey tower, equal to a height of 350 meters.

Among them will be winner of the Hanoi Vertical Run 2012, Belgian-born Omar Bekhali, who ranked fourth in the World Circuit 2013 (at Beijing-China run held in August), and his fellow countryman Olivier De Man who finished 10th in the Men' s Open category of the Swissotel Run 2012 in Singapore.

Organized by the Sporting Republic Limited of China' s Hong Kong, Hanoi Vertical Run 2013, the second edition of this kind ever held in Vietnam, is among races of the Vertical World Circuit 2013, which is held worldwide including New York, Barcelona, Beijing, Taipei, Singapore and Sao Paolo of Brazil being the last leg. Winners of the races will compete in the last run in Sao Paolo for the title of Vertical World Circuit 2013.
