Fast development of athletics in China paves way for successful performance of its team in Moscow's World Athletics Championships, Secretary General of the International Association of Athletic Federations (IAAF) Essar Gabriel said.

During the recent World Youth Championship in Donetsk, Ukraine, 17-year-old Mo Youxue took the first place on 100-meter race.

"This is an evidence of the fantastic pace of development of Chinese athletics," Gabriel told Xinhua in a recent interview.

Strong Chinese athletes will come to Moscow to compete for golds. Besides, the Beijing delegation will arrive as the city that takes over the championship in 2015, including race walk competitions.

There are many questions ahead of the championships. Whether Usain Bolt from Jamaica would win and whether Russian long jumper Alexander Minkov could take gold.

Russian team's captain Yuri Borzakovsky expected to win gold in 800-meter race. Yelena Isinbayeva returns to sport as she gradually restores her fit.

In total, over 2000 sports stars, including Olympic champions, from over 200 countries and regions are going to gather in the Moscow championships.

The upcoming World Championships will become the largest sporting event of the current season. Over five billion people worldwide will watch the competition. Eighty percent of the tickets have already been sold.
