BEIJING, June 17 (Xinhua) -- Japanese automaker Mitsubishi Motors will recall 9,478 vehicles in China due to a potential safety hazard in the sunroof, China's consumer quality watchdog said on Monday.
The vehicles being recalled are models GA2WXTHHL1C and GA2WXTHHZL1C of the imported Mitsubishi ASX produced between July 7, 2010 and March 30, 2011, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ) said in a statement.
The glass panel of the recalled SUV's panorama sunroof has not been properly installed to the body of the vehicle due to a lack of a certain kind of adhesive, posing safety hazards. The glass panel may fall, according to the statement.
Authorized Mitsubishi Motors dealers in China will contact relevant customers and fix the problem for free, said the statement.
The AQSIQ said in another statement on Monday that Yantai Shuchi Vehicle Co., Ltd., based in east China's Shandong Province, will recall 652 buses due to defects in passenger seats. The models are YTK6890, YTK6798H and YTK6126 manufactured between September 2004 and March 2013.
