Because of fears and worries over spread of bird flu in China, people no longer consider having chicken and ducks on their dining table to avoid H7N9 virus. In Longhai, the largest duck breeding area in Zhangzhou, southeast China’s Fujian province, 500,000 baby ducks were born in every 5 days. Apparently, the farms were hit hardest by bird flu scare and they were facing huge loss. Over 100,000 fowls were killed in the farms. People had to burn them or feed them to pigs or snakes. If the slaughter continues, the farm will literally go bankrupt.
