NEW DELHI, Nov. 11 -- The 11th Asia-Europe meeting ( ASEM) started its two-day session here Monday by expressing deep condolences to the victims of the devastating typhoon in the Philippines, which killed over 10,000 last week.
Indian foreign minister Salman Khurshid said in his opening remarks that all the attendant countries are concerned with the situation in the Philippines in the wake of the disaster.
Typhoon "Haiyan" rampaged through central Philippines last weekend, killing over 10,000 and destroying cities, towns and villages in the central parts of the island nation.
