Nan Tien Temple - the 'Paradise of the South' (People's Daily Online/ He Ji)

SYDNEY, August 30 (People's Daily Online Australia) -- Located approximately 80km south of Sydney, Australia, Nan Tien Temple is the biggest Buddhist temple in the southern hemisphere. The temple was founded in 1965 by Master Hsing Yun. Since the opening of the temple in 1995, it has become a popular tourist attraction and cultural centre bridging different cultures. The temple provides various classes about Buddhist knowledge, vegetarian cooking, oriental cultures etc. Visitors can also stay at the Pilgrim Lodge, a hotel with 100 rooms located in the temple, facing a beautiful lotus pond.
