DAMASCUS, July 1 (Xinhua) -- An explosive device ripped through a district of the Syrian capital Damascus on Monday night, causing no damage, the state-TV reported.
The report said the explosive devices planted by "terrorists" went off in the eastern district of Kafar Souseh, adding that no casualties or property losses were reported.
The pro-government Sham FM radio said the explosive device was affixed under a car in the area, spelling no further details.
Earlier in the day, a booby-trapped car went off in the country 's central city of Hama, causing an undisclosed number of casualties, according to the state-run SANA news agency.
The blast struck near a culture center in the town of Saboura in the countryside of Hama, SANA said, spelling no further details.
Meanwhile, the Sham FM radio said more than eight mortar shells slammed the pro-government district of Ush al-Warwar in the countryside of Damascus, leaving an unknown number of deaths and injuries.
According to the report, the Syrian troops continued their advancement in the eastern Damascus' suburb of al-Ghouta amid heavy battles with the rebels in that area.
