At least 40 killed as 7.5-magnitude quake hit southeastern Iran

TEHRAN, April 16 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake measuring 7.5- magnitude on the Richter scale hit Saravan city in Iran's southeastern Sistan and Baluchestan province at 15:14:17 (10:44: 17 GMT) on Tuesday, causing at least 40 dead so far, according to Press TV.

The epicenter, with a depth of 18 km, was initially determined to be at 28.04 degrees north latitude and 62.03 degrees east longitude, according to the report.
