Sculpture of Azerbaijan poet Nizami Ganjavi unveiled in Beijing

The unveiling ceremony for the sculpture of the great Azerbaijan poet Nizami Ganjavi was held in Beijing Dec. 6, 2012. Ambassador of Azerbaijan to China Latif Gandilov and China's foreign ministry representative Counsellor Su Fangqiu attended the ceremony.

Ambassador of Azerbaijan to China Latif Gandilov unveiled the sculpture and introduced the outstanding achievements of Nizami Ganjavi. He said the sculpture’s arrival in Beijing can be seen as a great tribute to the 20 anniversary of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and China. He believed that the activity will become a symbol of the friendship between the two peoples.
