BEIJING, Feb. 2 -- Tourist attractions in China's most northern and southern regions embraced surging visitors during the first three days of the Spring Festival holiday, National Tourism Administration said.
By Sunday, northeast China's Liaoning province, boasting scenic spots for sightseeing in winter, received 6.42 million tourists, while places of interests in Beijing saw 3.87 million visitors.
Tourists sites in the country's warmer southern parts also saw a huge number of visitor arrivals. In the recent three days, 3.13 million travelers visited Yunnan province, while 12.25 million thronged to Guangdong.
Friday marked the beginning of Chinese lunar year and also the first day of a seven-day holiday for the Chinese to celebrate the Spring Festival.
