Located in Yanqing county, northwest of Beijing, Wild Duck Lake is the only wetland natural reserve for birds in northern China. The natural reserve covers an area of 6,873 hectares, with wetland area of 3,939 hectares. There are a total 264 kinds of wetland birds in the Wild Duck Lake. At present, birds watching has become one of the most popular tourist activities in the scenic area.
