Its special family package is sure to bring a smile to children’s faces, combining five-star luxuries with fun and laughter, hotel officials said.
A one-hour drive from Shanghai or a 20-minute drive from Suzhou Railway Station, the hotel, located in the center of the picturesque Suzhou Industrial Park, is surrounded by the natural scenery of Jinji Lake and Dushu Lake, lush gardens and lawns.
The hotel seeks to bring families a summer holiday full of joy for children.
“Families truly thrive at Kempinski Suzhou during summer holiday because we’ve created an environment where there is something for everyone,” says Gerhard Bosse, general manager of Kempinski Hotel Suzhou.
“Chinese families are looking for vacation destinations where they can spend quality time with their family members and luckily, we have the advantage to look out for their interests. Kids of all ages have so much to do here that full days of fun may glide by without leaving the hotel.”
Most families visiting the hotel come from Shanghai. More than 3,000 families have taken advantage ofthe family-friendly strategy since its launch.
“August is the low season for our hotel normally. However, the program helped us turn August into a peak month in terms of occupancy,” Bosse said.
Upon arrival, all children are welcomed with a special Kid’s Passport and they are entitled to a lucky draw at Kempi Deli, where gifts can be won after collecting all the stamps on their passport.
A good way to begin a stay at Kempinski Hotel Suzhou during the heat of the summer is taking a dip in the 50-meter indoor swimming pool.
The beige walls contrast with the deep-blue swimming pool, providing an environment for aquatic relaxation.
A glass door at the side of the pool opens onto a kids’ playground. Parents can have a good time with their kids there or simply enjoy some snacks accompanied by an iced tea or cup of coffee.
The high-end feel of the facilities also extends to the changing rooms, the tropical rain forest shower, the Jacuzzi and the sauna, which are all accompanied by attentive service.
Located on the first floor, the 50m indoor pool is part of the hotel’s 3,000-square-meter health club, which also features a luxurious Jacuzzi with a garden view and recreation rooms for billiards, snooker and mah-jong.
Besides swimming, a daily activities program is designed to enrich children’s visits to the hotel.
The indoor daily activities include building with toy bricks, creative color painting, chess, Plasticine modeling clay, children’s riddles and storytelling.
Outdoor daily activities include hoop rolling, pinball, Frisbee, kite flying and a sandbox. With the facilities such as an inflated outdoor castle and two fun water fountains to play with, children will find this summer exceptionally playful.
Teens staying at the hotel can expend some energy with outdoor miniature golf, Chinese chess, table tennis competition, and billiards.
For parents, a morning jog around the hotel, or renting bikes at the hotel and cycling along the lake will bring much relaxation.
Originally founded by Germans, the European luxury hotel brand has a German touch, which is most noticeable in its food and beverages.
The hotel has four restaurants and bars and provides all kinds of delicacies, ranging from traditional Chinese cuisines like Cantonese and Huaiyang to international specialties.
Among the dining options, one of the most popular with families is the Paulaner Bräuhaus, which is popular for its fresh brewed German beer and authentic German cuisine.
The two-floor outlet boasts views of Dushu Lake and the garden. In the spacious main restaurant area, guests will find long benches and large tables, which encourage socializing. Guests will find quieter corners in the side niches and adjoining rooms as well. Guests can expect a unique gastronomical and cultural experience, both stylish and casual.
Children also will be thrilled to find milk and cookies ready for their bedtime for the night.
“We will keep our service standards regarding the family program and organize more family-oriented events in the future,” says Bosse.
