Royal Society President Sir Paul Nurse to visit People's Daily Online

The president of the Royal Society Sir Paul Nurse will visit People’s Daily Online at 4 p.m. this Saturday. He will receive a video interview under the theme of “Scientific exchanges and cooperation between China and Britain”.

Paul Nurse is a geneticist who works on what controls the division and shape of cells. He took up the post as president of Royal Society on Dec. 1, 2010. He was awarded the Nobel Prize for Physiology or Medicine in 2001.

The Royal Society is a self-governing fellowship of many of the world’s most distinguished scientists drawn from all areas of science, engineering, and medicine. It is the national Academy of science in the U.K.

People’s Daily Online will live broadcast the interview in Chinese and run reports in English.
