Chinese Yao loses to Bryant in Western weekly honors race
LA Lakers' Kobe Bryant raced past Houston Rocket's Chinese center Yao Ming and other two nominees for Western Conference to be named as one of NBA Players of the Week on March 29, alongside the Indiana Pacers' Ron Artest for the Eastern.
LA Lakers' Kobe Bryant raced past Houston Rocket's Chinese center Yao Ming and other two nominees for Western Conference to be named as one of NBA Players of the Week on March 29, alongside the Indiana Pacers' Ron Artest for the Eastern.
The All-Star guard was named after averaging 35.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and 5.0 assists for the Lakers, who went 3-0 last week.
Artest led the Pacers to a perfect 4-0 week, averaging 22.0 points, 4.5 assists and 4.5 steals versus Chicago, Dallas, Orlandoand Miami.
Both of the Lakers and Pacers earn berths of the playoffs as lay on respectively third in the West and top in East.
Other nominees for Players of the Week were Golden State's Erick Dampier, Miami's Lamar Odom and Dwyane Wade, Philadelphia's Kenny Thomas.
