Arab League foreign ministers began meeting here Friday to prepare for the league's summit due to beheld on March 29-30.

The meeting opened with Tunisian Foreign Minister Al-Habib binYahia taking over the rotating presidency from his Bahraini counterpart Mohammad Bin Mubarak.

AL chief Amr Mussa attended the meeting and made a speech before close-door discussions.

In the speech, Moussa denounced an earlier US veto against a UN Security Council (UNSC) draft resolution condemning Israel for assassination of Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas)spiritual leader Ahmed Yassin on Monday.

Balking the issuance of resolution that would have condemned Israel is a negative development and we hope that this veto wouldnot be a green light for Israel to proceed with its imprudent criminal policies, Mussa said.

He, meanwhile, denounced that Israeli aggressive policies in the occupied Palestinian lands accentuate that Tel Aviv was no peacepartner and would go on with terror and assassination policies.

According to the agenda of the gathering, the Arab top diplomats will meet Saturday to draw up the draft statement of the summit.
