Pakistani PM meets Chinese defense chief
Pakistani Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali met with Chinese Defense Minister Cao Gangchuan here Monday to exchange views on bilateral relations and the situation in South Asia.
Pakistani Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali met with Chinese Defense Minister Cao Gangchuan here Monday to exchange views on bilateral relations and the situation in South Asia.
Jamali said Pakistan is satisfied with the current China-Pakistan relations. The Sino-Pakistani friendship has maintained continuous growth since the establishment of diplomatic relations despite the fast-changing international situation.
He said he attaches great importance to reinforcing contacts between the two countries' armies.
As for India-Pakistan relations, Jamali said Pakistan is making efforts to normalize the relations with India and that the two countries had started the dialogue process.
Cao, who is also vice-chairman of the Central Military Commission (CMC) and a state councilor, said China and Pakistan have maintained close ties between their armed forces and that bilateral exchanges and cooperation in various areas are effective.
He said China is willing to further strengthen the relations with all the South Asian nations including Pakistan.
Cao arrived here Monday on his three-state visit covering Pakistan, India and Thailand.
