Al-Qaeda claims responsibility for Madrid blasts: Spanish minister
Al-Qaeda has claimed responsibility for the Madrid blasts in an Arab-language video tape, Spanish Interior Minister Angel Acebes said Sunday.
"A man dressed like an Arab (and speaking) Arabic with a Moroccan accent claimed responsibility (for the attacks) on behalf of Al-Qaeda's military spokesman in Europe," Acebes told a news conference at 0:45 am local time (2345 GMT).
But the authenticity of the tape has not been confirmed, said Acebes.
Two hundred people were killed and more than 1,400 wounded on Thursday morning when 10 bombs exploded on commuter trains in the Spanish capital.
