Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Zafarullah Jamali have reiterated their resolve to wipe out terrorism, extremism and sectarianism from the Pakistan society, Dawn reported on March 6.

During a meeting on March 5 in Rawalpindi, twin city of Islamabad, Musharraf and Jamali held a meeting and discussed the Tuesday violence in Quetta, capital of Balochistan province, which killed 47 people and injured 120 more.

The two leaders reviewed internal security and the law and order situation in the country.

"They condemned the Quetta incident resulting in the loss of innocent lives and directed the authorities concerned to take all possible measures for apprehending those responsible and awarding them exemplary punishment," the English-language newspaper quoted an official statement as saying.

Musharraf and Jamali also discussed the operations against foreign terrorists hiding in the country's western tribal belt and the steps being taken for the socio-economic uplift of the area.
