Beijing people are regarded as a group of the highest political enthusiasm in China. After a carefree interview with common people including university student, taxi driver, grandpa strolling in park and legal worker in Beijing, the deepest impression the journalist got is as follows: common people are mostly concerned about their "family affairs", and the "state affairs" is closely related to the "family affairs". Issues to be discussed and resolved at the "two sessions" are just what the common people are concerned with.
For university students, employment is the biggest concern. "We feel it a great pressure to find a job. It is extremely hard to find an ideal one. The senior students in our university cannot eat and sleep well in order to find a good job. What I want to know is whether the situation will take a turn for the better by the time I'm going to graduate," said Li Ming, a junior student from Guangdong.
Mr. Wang, a taxi driver spoke frankly "I hope to drive a new taxi!" "The taxi issue has been discussed for many years. Many people say Beijing's taxis are quite inferior in grade and thus affects the image of Beijing as a capital city. I wonder if the representatives, especially those from Beijing have any proposal about this matter?"
While Mr. Deng, a lawyer paid more attention to the Premier's answer to questions raised by correspondents and problems concerning legislation.
In the Chaoyang Park, Grandpa Liu was listening attentively to his mini-radio in his pocket while taking a morning stroll around. He talked about social guarantees, removal of houses, and anticorruption with the journalist. "I pay much attention to the "two sessions". In the bygone years when the two sessions were being held I used to discuss with the people doing their exercises here the report delivered at the session the day before. Many overtures put forward by the representatives are just what I want to know and to ask. I have one suggestion: is it possible to make known to the public how many overtures have been carried out so that everybody will feel relieved?"
With the coming of the "two sessions", the common people working at the frontlines in all walks of life are sending their opinions and suggestions via various channels, which carry the wishes of the people to the "two sessions". Here I would like to cite the taxi driver: "two sessions" is a close connection with us the common people once every year!
