Vietnam reported two more suspected cases of flu type A infection on Tuesday, bringing the total to 301,the country's Health Ministry said on Tuesday.
The two latest cases are from the capital of Hanoi and the southern province of Kien Giang, raising the total numbers of flu type A infections and suspects there to 103 and three, respectively.
Of the 301 cases, 226 have been discharged from hospitals, 34 under treatment and 41 died, of whom 22 are confirmed to have contracted H5N1, announced the ministry.
On Monday, Vietnam detected no new communes being hit by bird flu and no new poultry culled due to the disease.
The country has so far reported 2,573 affected communes of 57 cities and provinces nationwide, and 38.3 million poultry, or 15.1percent of its total fowl population, having died or being killed.
