A special section would be opened in China's rehabilitation centers for drug addicts with HIV/AIDS, said a public security official Monday.
In some places, special centers will, if possible, be established for dru g addicts with HIV/AIDS disease, said Luo Feng,Vice Minister of Public Security, at a press conference, when describing measures in drug control in 2004.
In 2004, China would push forward drug abuse control and rehabilitation, as well as the program of Drug-free Communities and Villages, said Luo.
Cracking down on drug-related crimes and intercepting drug sources were still important measures that China would take in drug control in 2004, according to Luo.
The country would also enhance drug prevention education and control the growth of number of new drug addicts. Besides, it would keep on strengthening exchanges and cooperation with international drug control agencies and neighboring countries, said Luo.
