China's women's soccer team will target the Beijing Olympics in 2008 rather than this summer's Athens Games.

Vice President of the China Football Association Xue Li says the women's team is not setting its sights on Athens, but is expecting some good performances in 2008.

China reshuffled its national squad after failing to advance into the semi-finals of last year's World Cup held in the U.S.

Xue Li says since the team is only several months old, it needs more time to gain experience to become solid.

The CFA official also gave a thumbs-up to the team's new head coach, 34-year-old Zhang Haitao.
