Malaysia's Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi on Feb. 26 called on domestic non-Chinese citizens to actively do businesses with Chinese to have a share of China's market.

The US China Press cited Badawi as saying that Chinese businessmen should cast their eyes on Malaysians but not only Chinese when looking for partners in the country. "Although Malaysian Chinese have more experience in doing business with China than other ethnic groups and share the same language thus makes the cooperation a natural phenomenon, non-Chinese Malaysians should actively cooperate with Chinese to have a share of China's market.

Badawi said during talks with attendants of the 2004 Malaysia-China Economic Meeting that Malaysian businessmen actually do not know much about China and many of them lack understanding of the investment environment in China and suffered failure in the beginning. But the government has been trying its best to assist Malaysian companies to make correct investments in China. He pointed out that China is a huge market which can not produce all the products to meet the demand so Malaysia can find opportunities in China's market.

Additionally, Badawi noted that the large number of Chinese traveling abroad is of much help to Malaysia's tourist industry.
