David Beckham may be one of the most idolized soccer star in China but his pony-tail hairstyle is strictly prohibited in the training camp of the Chinese under-17 national team in Nanning of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

His Real Madrid teammate Roberto Carlos' bare head cannot be simulated either under a rule of the Chinese Football Association (CFA).

The rule was announced early this week when the spring training kicked off. The rule said: "Dyed hair, long hair and weird hairstyles are all strictly prohibited in the training camp and all players must cut hair short."

Feng Jianming, director of the CFA youth department, told the players: "You must learn how to behave as a true man before becoming a soccer star."
