China has initiated 15 anti-dumping investigations against 22 countries and regions since its accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO) at the end of 2001,said an official with the Ministry of Commerce Wednesday.
China has launched a total of 27 anti-dumping investigations since 1997, when it first promulgated regulations on anti-dumping against countries and regions, including the United States, the European Union, Japan and the Republic of Korea, the official said.
Among all the investigations involving the chemical, steel, textiles and telecommunications industries, 18 investigations found dumping had occurred and caused substantial damage to mainland industries. China had levied anti-dumping taxes on those imports.
Since China's entry to the WTO, the government had used WTO rules and regulations to protect its domestic industries, said theofficial.
