A coalition helicopter has crashed in western Iraq, the US military said on Wednesday.
"We are aware of an incident involving a coalition helicopter" that crashed near Haditha, 200 km northwest of Baghdad, a US military spokeswoman said in Baghdad.
She could not identify what caused the incident or if there were any casualties.
"We don't know the exact time and we are investigating," she added.
Earlier, witnesses said a US military helicopter crashed near the town of Haditha in western Iraq on Wednesday noon, but they were not aware if the plane was forced down by hostile fire or by mistake.
