Death toll of dengue fever in Indonesia rises to 256

The death toll of the dengue fever across Indonesia has reached to 256 and the sufferer increased to 14,011, an official of the Health Ministry said Wednesday.

The death toll of the dengue fever across Indonesia has reached to 256 and the sufferer increased to 14,011, an official of the Health Ministry said Wednesday.

The outbreak has spread in 30 provinces across the country, 12 of them have extraordinary cases, the Secretary General of the Prevention of the Infectious Disease of the ministry Syafei Achmadsaid.

"The death toll until late today is 256, with 14,011 sufferers," Achmad told Xinhua.

The attacks were different from the normal five years cycle because of the changes of the rainy season from October-December to January-February, he said.
