China's Ministry of Health said in Beijing on Feb. 24 that no cases of severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) were reported in the 24 hours from 10:00 a.m. Monday to 10:00 a.m. Tuesday on the Chinese mainland.
The ministry said the Chinese mainland has reported four SARS cases so far this year, all from the southern province of Guangdong.
The four patients, a 35-year-old businessman, a 32-year-old TV producer, a 20-year-old waitress and a 40-year-old doctor, had been discharged from hospital after recovery. No people in contact with the four were infected with SARS.
