First Chinese version worldwide weather website launched

A new website -- http://www.worldweather.cn -- the first Chinese version worldwide weather forecast site was launched on Feb. 23 in Beijing.

A new website -- http://www.worldweather.cn -- the first Chinese version worldwide weather forecast site was launched Monday in Beijing.

Developed by the National Meteorological Center under the China Meteorological Administration, the website publishes official weather forecast for 858 cities of the 90 members of World Meteorological Organization (WMO).

It also provides climatological information, such as average monthly high temperatures and rainfalls, for 1,002 cities of 153 WMO members.

The website has links to the English and Arabic versions of world weather service websites, which were respectively launched in December 2002 and May 2003.
