The United States is determined to capture the chief suspect of Sept. 11 terror attacks at any cost, a US military spokesman said here Monday.
"We are looking for the perpetrators of crimes of Sept. 11 and we continue to involve with that a lot of force dedicated to that," Lieutenant Bryan Hilferty told journalists at a press briefing.
Over 11,000 US troops have been continuing a hunting operation against Osama bin Laden and his backers as well as remnants of ousted Taliban regime since its collapse in late 2001.
"We really completely confident about the outcome," he added while referring to the ongoing anti-terror campaign here in Afghanistan.
To a query about the reported cornering of the terror kingpin in bordering area, the spokesman said, "All I can say I hope it istrue."
According to media reports, the leader of al-Qaeda network bin Laden has been cornered by US and British troops in a tribal area between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
Bin Laden and his host Mullah Omar -- the fugitive leader of fundamentalist Taliban movement have been hiding over the last twoyears and the US has failed to spot them despite desperate efforts.
