The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) on Friday slammed Japan's recent moves in connection with the DPRK as perfidious behavior and urged Japan tocomply with the DPRK-Japan Pyongyang Declaration.

"Japan has not yet shown any intention to fulfill its commitment to redeeming its past since the declaration was issued two years ago," the DPRK's major newspaper Rodong Sinmun said in asigned commentary.

Japan's newly-passed law on imposing economic sanctions on the DPRK is a hostile act that threatens the DPRK's right to existenceand security, it said.

"We will neither make any deal with Japan nor expect any solution so long as it shows no good faith," it said.

Japan should understand the principled stand of the DPRK and fulfill its commitment, the paper added.
