Foreign trade of machinery products grows 50.15 percent

China's foreign trade volume of machinery products in 2003 jumped 50.15 percent to 155.9 billion US dollars, Vice President Cai Weici of the China Federation of Machinery Industry said Thursday at a news conference.

China's foreign trade volume of machinery products in 2003 jumped 50.15 percent to 155.9 billion US dollars, Vice President Cai Weici of the China Federation of Machinery Industry said Thursday at a news conference.

In 2003, China's machinery product imports reached 97.6 billionUS dollars, up 50.91 percent year on year, while exports hit 58.3 billion US dollars, growing 48.88 percent, Cai said.

The processing trade of machinery industry in 2003 increased remarkably to 57.55 billion US dollars, accounting for 36.91 percent of the total foreign trade volume of the machinery industry, he said.
