Earthquakes hit Nabire in Indonesia's easternmost province of Papua on Friday morning, killing seven and damaging several buildings and bridges, an official said.

Wenyza, an official on duty in the Meteorology and Geophysics Agency (BMG) said that the earthquakes also damaged an hospital, forcing the patients to be treated outside the hospital.
He added the earthquakes which measured 6.91 on the Richter scale also damaged an airport tower.
Wenyza said the earthquake occurred at 06:05 a.m. of local time.
