The International Olympic Committee (IOC) will consider increasing the number of women's teams to 12 in the soccer competition at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.

Ten women's teams will play at the Athens Olympics in August.

FIFA president Sepp Blatter met with IOC president Jacques Rogge on Monday to ask for two more teams to be added for Beijing.

Rogge said the IOC program commission would study the request and come back with recommendations in July 2005.

Rogge also congratulated Blatter for reaching an agreement lastweek with the World Anti-doping Agency pledging to sign the globalanti-doping code before the Athens Games.
