Chinese local leaders attend UN training on AIDS
The Northeast Asia AIDS Prevention and Control Program-Development Management Practical Project launched by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) formally opened in Ezhou, Hubei Province on February 1.
The Northeast Asia AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome) Prevention and Control Program-Development Management Practical Project launched by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) formally opened in Ezhou, Hubei Province on February 1. This is the first time for the United Nations to offer Chinese local leaders to take training on basic knowledge on AIDS prevention and response strategies.
Sources say that the training is aimed to strengthen the ability of provincial, prefecture leaders in preventing and controlling AIDS, to push various department to formulate practical measures in response to AIDS and put AID prevention work on the agenda of governmental work.
Provincial, municipal and prefectural government leaders in Hubei Province and responsible personages with the 32 members of the AIDS prevention and control coordination conference office such as the public security, judicial, civil affairs and tourism departments attended the training.
