Premier inspects bird flu-hit regions

Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao went to bird flu-hit regions in the central China provinces of Anhui and Hubei on Jan. 31 and Feb. 1 to inspect the implementation of containment and compensation policy there.

Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao went to bird flu-hit regions in the central China provinces of Anhui and Hubei on Jan. 31 and Feb. 1 to inspect the implementation of containment and compensation policy there.

Wen visited farmers affected by avian influenza in Shima Village of Ma'anshan, Anhui, and Shifo Town of Wuxue City, Hubei, and asked them about details of the epidemic.

He also inspected the local veterinary station and extended greetings to those veterinarians fighting to control the disease.
