Chinese striker Dong Fangzhuo has left China for England on Jan. 29 to kick off a new career with Manchester United.
"We hope he will grow up quickly in Europe. Joining United will be good for his career," Dalian Shide general manager Lin Lefeng was quoted by Reuters as saying.
The 18-year-old striker agreed earlier this month to leave Dalian for United in a 3.5 million pounds (6.48 million U.S. dollars) transfer.
Dong emerged as the cream of a crop of youngsters sent to England by China's top clubs for trials in August.
