Thailand very likely has human bird flu: PM

Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra on Friday told reporters in Bangkok that the kingdom's four suspected cases of bird flu are highly likely to be confirmed.

Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra on Friday told reporters in Bangkok that the kingdom's four suspected cases of bird flu are highly likely to be confirmed.

"It is very likely that we could have bird flu here, but I haven't seen the results yet," Thaksin told reporters.

He said that the lab results on the suspects would be known Friday.

The Thai government on Wednesday night declared that three people with pneumonia symptoms might affected with bird flu and sent blood and sputum samples to lab for test.
