Officials visit leading media on eve of Spring Festival

Li Changchun, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, visited leaders of China's mediafrom Jan. 16 to 19, to convey greetings for the traditional SpringFestival, which falls on Jan. 22 this year.

The media units he had visited included China Radio International, the People's Daily newspaper, Xinhua News Agency, Qiushi (Seeking Truth) Magazine, China National Radio, and China Central Television.

Li urged the media to uphold Deng Xiaoping Theory and the Important Thought of "Three Represents," which means that the CPC must always represent the development trend of China's advanced culture, and the fundamental interests of the overwhelming majority of the people in China, and open up a new situation in their work.

Li was accompanied by Liu Yunshan, a member of both of the Political Bureau and Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee and director of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee,and State Councilor Chen Zhili.
