The Secretary General of the United Nations Kofi Annan said Sunday that China had made great achievements on the country's development problem.
In an interview with a Chinese publication, the UN chief said the number of people below the government-set poverty line in China has been reduced by 50 percent.
Annan hoped China will continue its efforts on the problem in order to make a greater global contribution.
The law-breaking acts of a few Chinese indeed constitute an important cause of the problem of "crimes committed by Chinese in Japan". However, it is undeniable Japan's internal factors also function to heat up this issue.
