3 army personnel injured in ambush in India-controlled Kashmir

Three Indian army personnel werecritically injured when heavily-armed militants ambushed a search party in Baramulla District of the India-controlled Kashmir Saturday, the Press Trust of India quoted official sources as saying.

Three Indian army personnel werecritically injured when heavily-armed militants ambushed a search party in Baramulla District of the India-controlled Kashmir Saturday, the Press Trust of India quoted official sources as saying.

Militants hiding in Wuyan forest area opened indiscriminate fire and lobbed grenades injuring three soldiers critically, the sources said.

The troops retaliated but the ultras escaped taking advantage of the thick forest cover and bad weather, the sources said.

Despite snowfall, army had moved to the forest area to conduct searches following specific information about presence of militants, the sources said.
