China has not thought about moving their 2006 World Cup qualifying match with Kuwait away from the southern city of Guangzhou that has reported one diagnosed SARS case and two suspected ones since late last year, the Chinese Football Association (CFA) announced in Beijing on Jan. 16.
CFA spokesman Dong Hua told Xinhua: "We are keeping close eyes on the situation in Guangzhou through various channels. But the disease is not serious enough to threaten the match. So we have not thought about relocating the match."
Dong said that as traditionally China has already prepared several "alternative venues" for the match, but he stopped short of naming the alternatives.
China will host Kuwait on Feb. 18.
The South China city has reported one diagnosed SARS case and two suspected ones since late last year but China's Health Ministry announced on Friday no new SARS cases reported since Jan.12.
The diagnosed patient, a 32-year-old TV producer, was discharged from hospital on Jan. 8 after recovering.
The ministry said the 20-year-old waitress who was reported as a suspected SARS patient on Jan. 8 is in good condition and has had a normal temperature for 15 days.
"All the people in contact with her have been discharged from medical observation," said the ministry.
Another suspected SARS case, the 35-year-old private businessman reported on Jan. 12, is also in good condition and none of the people in contact with him has developed fever or other abnormal symptoms.
