A quake measuring 3.8 degrees on the Richter scale rocked south China on Jan. 16, without reports of injuries and damages.
The quake occurred at 11:30 a.m. local time in Shantou City in south China's Guangdong Province and the epicenter was at 116.8 degrees east longitude and 23.55 degrees north latitude, said local seismological bureau.
Most citizens felt the jolt and many ran out of the buildings to stay at open roads and squares for fear of aftershocks.
