A road accident on Jan. 13afternoon in China's Tibet Autonomous Region killed seven passengers and injured one.
The accident happened in Zayu Village of Zayu County, when a truck carrying eight people rolled over a 100-meter-deep valley and fell into river.
Seven were killed at the scene and the driver was badly injured and is being treated in hospital.
The accident was caused by excessive speed and the driver had no license, said the police.
The county has sent a rescue team to the spot. Further investigation is underway.
The latest figures show that there were 1,317 road accidents in Tibet last year, killing 621 and injuring 1,161, which caused 12.66 million yuan (1.54 million US dollars) of economic losses. Most of the accidents were caused by careless operation, overloading and speeding.
