Chinese pick two golds on 1st day of FINA World Cup

Chinese swimmers won two gold medals on the first day of the FINA World Cup short course event on Jan. 13 in Stockholm in Sweden.

Chinese swimmers won two gold medals on the first day of the FINA World Cup short course event on Jan. 13 in Stockholm in Sweden.

Zhou Yafei led in women's 200m individual medley finals in 2:11.05 followed by Mima Jukic from Austria and Malin Svahnstr?m from the host Sweden.

In the finals of women's 50m backstroke, 17-year-old Gao Chang picked the gold in 27.61 at her debut overseas. Following are Canadian world champion Jennifer Carroll and Sanja Jovanovic from Croatia.

Besides, Chinese Wang Wei also won the runner-up in men's 400m individual medley at 4:12.53 and Yang Jing finished a bronze in women's 800m freestyle in 8:32.56.
