HK, Argentina sign agreement on visa-free access

Hong Kong Director of Immigration Lai Tung-kwok signed Wednesday the Agreement on Abolition of Visa Requirements with the Consul-General of the Argentine Republic Ricardo H. Forrester.

Hong Kong Director of Immigration Lai Tung-kwok signed Wednesday the Agreement on Abolition of Visa Requirements with the Consul-General of the Argentine Republic Ricardo H. Forrester.

"The agreement, which enters into force with immediate effect, provides visa-free access to HKSAR passport holders visiting Argentina for up to 90 days. Likewise, nationals of Argentina willenjoy 90 days' visa-free access to Hong Kong," a spokesman for theImmigration Department said.

"We warmly welcome the signing of the agreement, which means greater convenience for Hong Kong travelers and helps promote trade, business and tourism links between Hong Kong and the Argentine Republic," the spokesman added.

Argentina is the 127th country to grant visa-free access to HKSAR passport holders.
